The Strategic Planning, Research and Development Group (SPRG) drives the strategic planning process to help MSF advance its mission and contribute to the whole-of-government strategic objectives.
What We Do
We drive the strategic planning process, lead research at MSF to shape policies and develop the organisational capabilities of the Ministry.
1. Strategic Planning
We drive the Ministry’s strategy development through a well-managed and well-designed annual strategic planning process.
To improve the execution of policies, we align the Ministry’s programmes with organisational priorities.
We spearhead forward-looking policy thinking through our annual strategic planning process as well as the development of future awareness within the Ministry.
2. Research for Policy-Making
We oversee social research and produce research papers and studies to increase policy-makers’ awareness and knowledge of current and emerging social concerns. These publications also support evidence-based policy development in the Ministry.
We work with divisions and stakeholders to identify critical social issues and research gaps. These issues are then prioritised into the Ministry’s policy and research agenda.
We raise early warnings of issues that have implications on social policies and the social sector.
We engage the academic community, social research practitioners and policy owners to develop the Ministry’s research capabilities.
We run the Resource Centre which is a one-stop centre dedicated to the information needs of MSF. The Centre has a specialised collection focusing on social work and social issues.
