Social Development and Support

We provide social support to those in need, including low-income families, the elderly, disabled and youths-at-risk. We also ensure that our society has the resources needed to support our social services.

  • We co-ordinate inter-agency efforts to improve services for the 12 to 21 years old youth-at-risk population, to help prevent the cycle of offending and reoffending.
  • We consolidate the enforcement, licensing and sector regulation functions of the Ministry of Social and Family Development.
  • Together, as a community, we can put in the safeguards and social support measures to prevent and treat gambling addiction
  • The Office of the Director-General of Social Welfare (ODGSW) has oversight on matters of social inclusion, social justice, human rights and issues that impact the quality of life of Singaporeans.
  • We build socially-responsible individuals and strong and stable families by creating a safe and nurturing environment for children, young persons and families.
