These initiatives are part of our continuous efforts to strengthen our social safety nets, and provide Comprehensive, Convenient and Coordinated (3C) support for those in need.

​The National Council of Social Service (NCSS), in consultation with the sector, is refreshing the Social Service Sector Strategic Thrusts (4ST), a five-year strategy roadmap for the social service sector.

​This factsheet provides updates on several initiatives: (i) Raising family violence awareness through a refreshed Break the Silence public education campaign and promoting a Hand Signal for Help, (ii) Tapping on ComLink to support early detection of family and domestic violence, (iii) Amending the Women's Charter to strengthen legal provisions on protection against family violence, and (iv) Deploying forensic-trained psychologists to community-based Family Violence Specialist Centres.

​MSF has been creating jobs and skills opportunities for Singaporeans since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. By end-2021, there will be around 4,500 opportunities that will build capability across the social service and early childhood sectors, and for persons with disabilities.

Given the protracted economic and social impact of COVID-19, MSF has accelerated plans to scale up the ComLink initiative to strengthen support for the lower-income and families and individuals in need.

A new Singapore Together Alliance for Action (SG Together AfA) will be formed by the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), SG Enable and community partners to co-create solutions on pressing issues faced by caregivers of persons with disabilities.
