The Council helps individuals and their families deal with problem gambling and seeks to minimise the impact of problem gambling on society.
NCPG was appointed in August 2005 by then-Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS)* as part of Singapore’s national framework to address problem gambling.
The Council’s first two-year term began on 31 August 2005.
NCPG's mission is to work with the community to reduce the impact of problem gambling on individuals, families and society.
Key Responsibilities
The Ministry provides Secretariat support to the Council.
The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) is a council comprising 17 members with expertise in psychiatry and psychology, social services, counselling, legal, rehabilitative as well as religious services.
