New Award Categories
2. The MVPA honours the passion and dedication of MSF’s partners and volunteers, as well as organisations that have made significant contributions to our programmes or causes. This year, there were 121 awards given to 140 award winners. In addition, 177 Long Service Awards (five to 15 years) have been conferred earlier at another appreciation event to acknowledge the contributions of our volunteers.
3. As part of its refresh, MSF introduced four new award categories this year:
a. Lifetime Achievement Award recognises exceptional individuals for their remarkable contributions to nurture resilient individuals, strong families and a caring community, on account of their leadership of a partner or agency, or their individual volunteer efforts for 20 years and more;
b. Outstanding Agency Award recognises exemplary SSAs that have demonstrated impact and organisational excellence;
c. Outstanding Partner Award recognises impactful partner organisations; and
d. Lifetime Service Award our pinnacle Long Service Award recognises outstanding volunteers who have served with MSF for 25 years.
Lifetime Achievement Award
4. The inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Ms Anita Fam, President of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS). Over the decades, she demonstrated exceptional stewardship to build up and transform the social service sector through her various leadership roles and involvement in disability services, palliative care, healthcare and mental health.
5. As Board member of NCSS since 2006 and as its President over the last seven years, she provided strategic guidance to NCSS with her vast experience and expertise. Under Anita’s leadership, NCSS’s role has evolved into that of a sector developer, which will be reflected in upcoming amendments that will be proposed to the NCSS Act.
Outstanding Agency and Partner Awards
6. For the first time, three social service agencies (i.e. Samaritans of Singapore, Fei Yue Community Services and Rainbow Centre) received the Outstanding Agency Award, while corporates (i.e. DBS and SP Group) were conferred the Outstanding Partner Award. The details of the awards and the award winners are in the Annex.
Inaugural Impact Scorecard
7. Minister Masagos also launched the MSF’s inaugural Impact Scorecard, which will be shared on a yearly basis to affirm our volunteers and partners and help them see the impact of their contributions. In 2024, MSF managed to harness the support of more than 3,000 active volunteers and received $11 million in corporate sponsorships, which directly impacted more than 15,000 beneficiaries.
