The Government strives to ensure that persons who need support can access it, regardless of whether a person’s condition is defined as having a disability.
We recognise the need to provide support for persons living with dementia and their caregivers. While the Enabling Masterplan (EMP) focuses on support for persons with physical, intellectual, and sensory impairments as well as autism, the Agency for Integrated Care has in place various initiatives in the community to support persons living with dementia and their caregivers.
Community services such as dementia day care, Community Outreach Teams (CREST) Teams and Community Intervention Teams (COMIT) are available to provide care and intervention for persons living with dementia and support for their caregivers. The Ministry of Health has also established the Dementia-Friendly Singapore movement to rally the society to play a part in building a caring and dementia-friendly Singapore. Caregivers of persons who require assistance with activities of daily living, including those with dementia, can apply for the Home Caregiving Grant (HCG). If eligible, up to $400 is provided to defray caregiving costs.
The Government will continue to support persons living with dementia and their caregivers.
