Submit a Search Request/Certified Copy Application
Guide to submitting a Search Request/Certified Copy Application
Search Request
1. You can request for information in the following registers maintained by the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG):
- Register of Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA)
- Register of Court Orders appointing Deputies
2. Information on an LPA includes who the Donee(s) are and the types of powers they have. A Court Order search will contain information on the active Deputy(ies) (if any), and the date of the court order (if applicable).
3. For requests under the Mental Disorders and Treatment Act Order (before 1 Mar 2010) in respect of a person alleged to lack capacity (“P”), OPG does not have the updated information for this case. You may wish to file a request to inspect files at the SG Courts - Apply for Court Records: Civil and Family Cases.
4. Please note that no refunds will be given for requests that are not approved.
Certified Copy Application
This application is for a certified copy of a registered LPA.
OPG generally does not disclose certified copies to persons who are not named parties in an LPA unless there is a Court Order directing us to do so. Named parties refer to the Donor and Donee.
How do I submit a search request/certified copy application?
All requests for information, and certified copy applications for a registered LPA, must be made online via Singpass login on OPGO.
