MSF's response to a parliamentary question by Mr Melvin Yong Yik Chye on support for married women especially mothers during the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and what can be done to encourage men to share household responsibilities with women.
The Ministry for Social and Family Development (MSF) announced the addition of seven new members to the Council for Board Diversity (CBD) in 2021. The members will serve a two-year term. The CBD was established by MSF to promote a sustained increase in the number of women on boards of listed companies, statutory boards, and Institutions of a Public Character (IPCs) in Singapore. This change refreshes a third of the Council, providing the opportunity to tap on fresh perspectives and valuable insights.

Senior Parliamentary Secretary (SPS) for Social and Family Development, Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, led the Singapore delegation to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Women and the Economy Forum (WEF) in La Serena, Chile. The APEC-WEF is an annual meeting of leaders from the public, private, non-government and academic sectors to discuss the empowerment of women across APEC economies.
