​The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), together with the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), have awarded grants to three operators to provide dedicated transport services to persons with disabilities. The three operators are Handicaps Welfare Association (HWA), EK Ang Trading and Transport Pte Ltd and Silveray Pte Ltd.

​The Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) will introduce new initiatives to improve the affordability and quality of child care services for parents, support the career progression of more early childhood (EC) professionals, and raise the overall quality of the EC sector. 

The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) will invest more resources to help Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs) and professionals in the social service sector build up capabilities to meet future demands.

​The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) will reach out to more families who require short- to medium- term assistance. ComCare provides assistance to households who require temporary help because their members are either looking for work, temporarily unable to work due to illness and care giving duties, or earning insufficient incomes to provide for their families.

​Minister for Social and Family Development Chan Chun Sing outlined enhancements to the Kindergarten Fee Assistance Scheme (KiFAS) today. The changes will make Kindergarten education more affordable for low and middle income families, and help them provide a strong start for their children.

​The Ministry of Social and Family Development announced details on the increase in support for children with special needs and transport schemes for persons with disabilities.

Businesses will receive greater support in creating a family-friendly environment for their customers with the launch of a new 3-year, $4 million FamilyMatters@Business grant by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF). Effective 1 April 2013, the new grant will replace the current $2.8 million Businesses for Families grant.

MSF will set up about 20 Social Service Offices island-wide over the next 2-3 years to serve needy residents in HDB towns. These Offices will build on the existing network of help touch points and enable the ministry to meet future needs.

From 1 April 2013, Singaporeans can look forward to wider choices and better access to family education and resources at different life stages.
