Government Awards Tender to Develop Common IT System to Coordinate Social Service

The Government has awarded the tender to develop the Social Service Net (SSNet) - a national case management system for the social service sector. SSNet will enable service providers to better coordinate the delivery of social assistance and social services to individuals and families in need. It is a joint effort of the Ministry of Social and Family Development and the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore.
National Family Council Renamed 'Families for Life'

More Training and Funding Support for Family Life Educators Launched at Inaugural Family Life Conference

Parliamentary Secretary for Social and Family Development, Ms Low Yen Ling, announced a suite of initiatives to enhance the capabilities of family life educators at the inaugural Family Life Education (FLE) Conference 2013 today. For a start, up to 150 volunteers will be trained over the next 3 years to help co-facilitate FLE programmes in schools and the community. Ms Low also announced funding schemes and more training platforms aimed to strengthen the FLE sector to provide quality FLE programmes and resources for families.
