The Enabling Masterplan 2030 (EMP2030), which sets out the vision for Singapore as an inclusive society in 2030, was released today. The EMP2030, which is Singapore’s fourth Enabling Masterplan, was put together by a 27-member Steering Committee (SC) co-chaired by Mr Eric Chua, Senior Parliamentary Secretary (Social and Family Development) and Mr Gan Seow Kee, Vice Chairperson of the Singapore Business Federation. It comprises 29 recommendations along 3 strategic themes spanning 14 focal areas, which cover the life stages and various needs of persons with disabilities and their caregivers. The EMP2030 was launched by the two Co-Chairs at a visit to AWWA’s new Home and Day Activity Centre which will start operations in September 2022.

The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) announced today key appointment holders to the Board of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), and the re-appointment of the Board President. In addition to the appointments made by Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for Health, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, other Board members were elected at NCSS’ Annual General Meeting held on 13 July 2022 or appointed by the Board President, all of whom will serve a two-year term from 1 August 2022 to 31 July 2024.
From 1 July 2022, MSF will increase subsidies under the scheme to reduce transport costs for persons with disabilities who take dedicated transport to attend Special Education (SPED) Schools and community-based programmes. The scheme will also be renamed the 'Enabling Transport Subsidy'.
Through the partnership with McDonald’s, we hope that this programme become more accessible to parents. Plus, prompt parents to think about their children’s mental well-being, as they enjoy happy family time together.

The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) will increase the amount of assistance for lower-income households on the ComCare Long-Term Assistance (LTA) and Short-to-Medium-Term Assistance (SMTA) schemes from 1 August 2022. This is part of the support package introduced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong to provide support to households, individuals and businesses, in view of inflationary pressures caused by external factors.
