  • Volunteer Probation Officer Scheme

    Started in June 1971, the Volunteer Probation Officer Scheme seeks to promote volunteer participation and community awareness in the rehabilitation of offenders under MSF’ purview.
  • Periodic Training Order

    The Youth Court can impose a Periodic Training Order (PTO) as a condition of Probation.
  • Detention Order

    A juvenile may be placed under Detention. The Juvenile Court could impose that the juvenile undergoes a Detention Order before a Probation Order.
  • Other Court-Ordered Options or Conditions

    Community Service Order, Weekend Detention Order and Periodic Training Order are other options available to the Court.
  • The Community Chest

    The Community Chest functions as a centralised fund-raising arm of NCSS. In 2007, it raised $52 million to serve more than 310,000 people supported by 147 programmes under 57 charities.
  • President’s Challenge

    Started in 2000, the President’s Challenge is an annual community outreach and fund-raising campaign for beneficiaries selected yearly by the President’s Office.
  • Gambling Social Safeguards

    MSF aims to minimise the social impact of problem gambling and works closely with the National Council on Problem Gambling to manage the ills of problem gambling.
  • Youth GO! Programme

    A community-based outreach programme for youths aged 12-21 who are out of school and not working. The programme focuses on youths and their families and aims to coordinate assistance and services at the community level.
  • Enhanced STEP-UP

    ESU is a support programme provided by Integrated Service Providers for students at risk of dropping out of school and youth who are out of school.
