Becoming an Approved Institution

Eligibility criteria to become an AI 

Key Requirements 

To qualify as an AI, your organisation must:
1. Have a CorpPass account (Select “Baby Bonus Online – Approved Institutions”
2. Located and operating in Singapore
3. Have a Singapore corporate bank account

5. Belong to one of the following categories and provide the corresponding approved uses of the Child Development Account (CDA) below:

Must be licensed by Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA)

Approved Uses of the CDA

  • Registration fees, programme fees and deposits
  • Approved Incidental Charges listed in Appendix 1 of the AP/AI Terms and Conditions 

Must be registered with ECDA.

Approved Uses of the CDA

  • Registration fees, programme fees and deposits
  • Approved Incidental Charges listed in Appendix 1 of the AP/AI Terms and Conditions 

Must be registered with ECDA.

  • Fees for childminding services

Must be registered with Ministry of Health (MOH)

Approved Uses of the CDA

  • Medical services provided by a medical practitioner employed by the approved medical institutions

Must be registered with Ministry of Education (MOE)

Must be registered with Health Sciences Authority (HSA)

Approved Uses of the CDA
Pharmaceutical items under:

  • Medication prescribed by a qualified practitioner or diagnosed by an in-store pharmacist
  • Surgical products
  • Over-the-counter medication
  • Dermatological products
  • Vitamins and health supplements

Note: Retail pharmacies to be discontinued as Approved Institution from 1 January 2026

Must be registered with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA)

Approved Uses of the CDA

  • Optical appliances
  • Optical-related eye care products and services provided by an optometrist / optician 

Note: Optical shops to be discontinued as Approved Institution from 1 January 2026

Must have with a referral letter from hospitals or relevant agencies (e.g. Singapore Association for the Deaf)

Approved Uses of the CDA
Payment for:

  • Purchase/rental of ATDs and accessories as recommended by a medical practitioner, allied health professional or social worker
  • Maintenance / repair of ATDs
  • Professional assessment services in relation to the purchase/rental/loan of ATDs

    Approved Uses of the CDA

    • Payment of insurance premium for MediShield Life Scheme, integrated medical insurance plan or MediSave-approved plan for the child or the child’s sibling
