Becoming an Approved Institution
Apply to become an Approved Institution
This service will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete. You are highly encouraged to read more about the service before accessing the service.
Key Roles and Responsibilities of Approved Persons (APs)
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain a valid email address and other contact details
- Accept AP/AI Terms & Conditions on AI Portal
- Set up GIRO Direct Debit arrangements from CDA or Baby Bonus NETS Payment Service
- Register corporate bank account for refunds to CDA
Compliance Responsibilities
- Ensure CDA funds are used for approved expenses of the child and/or their siblings
- Request for documentary proof to verify sibling’s relationships for:
- Recurring CDA payments (e.g. monthly school fees); or
- One-off CDA payments above $500 - Keep transaction records for 3 years (for more details, refer to AP/AI Terms & Conditions)
- Update MSF within 7 working days of business changes via here
Important Note: APs and AIs are reminded to adhere to the AP/AI Terms and Conditions and relevant legislation. Non-compliance may affect your status as an AP and AI.

Login via CorpPass with these details ready:
- Unique Entity Number (UEN)
- Institution Code (see notes under "Need Help?")
- Organisation email
- Physical outlet address*
- Corporate bank account number
* Each business location must register separately as an AI. For example, if an AI has 3 centres in Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, and Clementi, each centre needs its own AI registration. CDA deductions can only be made at registered centres for approved uses.
- Processing time: About 2 weeks
- MSF may request additional documents via email
You will receive an email notification from MSF once your application is successful. To complete the application process, you will need to:
- Accept AP/AI Terms & Conditions in the AI Portal
- Update corporate bank details
Upon completion of the above, you will receive:
- Letter of Approval (LOA) via email
- Baby Bonus AI stickers/decals for display at your premise by post
- Display the sticker/decal at your premises to help parents identify approved merchants for CDA usage.
- Ensure the sticker/decal is placed in a prominent location visible to parents.
- For additional Baby Bonus AI stickers/decals, please send your request at https://go.gov.sg/bb-ai-decals-stickers.
- Apply for CDA NETS terminal at www.nets.com.sg with your LOA and/ or
- Arrange GIRO Direct Debit setup with your corporate bank account

Notes:
- Newly licenced childcare centres will receive an invitation to accept the Approved Institution Status by the licencee.
- Please use the following institution codes if you fall under these categories. If you are unsure of your institution code, please check with your Governing body.
- Childcare Centre – ECDA Licence Number (E.g. PT1234)
- Kindergarten – Kindergarten Code (E.g. KG1234);
- Healthcare Institution – Ministry of Health HCI code (E.g. If the MOH licence code is L/11H0026/MDS/001/232, applicant will need to enter the institution code as 11H0026);
- Early Intervention Program – EI Reg No (E.g. EP2345)
Institution code is not required for categories under Special Education and Assistive Technology Devices. The system will generate the institution code for these categories.
