Parliamentary Secretary Low Yen Ling to attend High-Level Policy Dialogue on Women and the Economy at APEC Forum in Beijing, China

Ms Low Yen Ling, Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Social and Family Development as well as Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, will lead a delegation to the 2014 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Women and the Economy Forum in Beijing, China from 21 to 23 May 2014. The Forum seeks to ensure that high-level attention is given to address women in the economy issues within APEC, and is a crucial platform for the integration of a gender perspective into APEC agenda and enhancement of women’s participation in economic development.

Ms Low will speak at the High-Level Policy Dialogue on Women and the Economy on 22 May 2014. The main theme of the Forum is Harnessing the Power of Women for Asia-Pacific Prosperity. Three plenary sessions with the sub-themes, Women and Green Development, Women and Regional Trade and Economic Cooperation as well as Policy Support and Women’s Economic Empowerment will be held on 22 – 23 May 2014. About 300 delegates from APEC economies are expected to attend the Forum.
