Better Medical Coverage
With effect from 1 March 2013, MediShield has been extended to children born with congenital and neonatal conditions. A new Medifund Junior Scheme was introduced to enhance Medifund assistance available to needy children diagnosed with these conditions before March 2013.
The Special Needs Trust Company (SNTC) is a government-funded trust management service for PwDs.
From 1 August 2014 onwards, SNTC also administers the Special Needs Savings Scheme (SNSS) on MSF's behalf. The SNSS is a CPF nomination scheme that encourages parents of special needs children to save up for their long-term care needs. Under this scheme, parents can nominate their children to receive monthly disbursements from the parent's CPF savings after the parent's demise.
