The Council for Board Diversity (CBD) was established by MSF in January 2019, to promote and achieve sustained increases in the number of women on boards of listed companies, statutory boards and non-profit organisations. It succeeded the Diversity Action Committee (DAC), which had focused on the private sector only.
CBD is made up of 20 eminent members with a diverse and strong slate of management and board expertise across different sectors. Its patron is President Halimah Yacob, and the Co-Chairs are Mr Loh Boon Chye (CEO of the Singapore Exchange, SGX) and Mrs Mildred Tan (Chairman of the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre, NVPC).
The Government of Singapore remains committed to achieving the goals set in the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (“Beijing POA” for short) adopted at the 4th UN World Conference on Women held in Beijing in September 1995 to achieve gender equality.
