Overview Description
Low-income elderly with little or no family support and in need of long-term accommodation can stay at Sheltered Homes (SHs). SHs operate programmes to ensure the elderly are meaningfull engaged and supported in their daily activities, to prevent social isolation.
Welfare homes (WHs) provide long-term care and rehailitation for destitute persons admitted under the Destitute Persons Act. WHs rehabilitate residents through casework and intervention, maintain their physical and social well-being and function, and facilitate residents' reintegration to the community, wherever possible.
