Conversations on Youth

Conversations On Youth (COY) is a biennial symposium that brings together school leaders, teachers in charge of student discipline, social and youth workers, law enforcement officers and participants from the organising ministries for a dialogue on supporting youth-at-risk and youth offenders. COY is organised under the auspices of the NCPR.

COY 2021

Held on 9 Sep 2021, with the theme “I’m not difficult; I’m in a difficult situation”, the symposium provided fresh perspectives on youth-at-risk and youth offenders by examining the environments they live in and shifting the spotlight from negative offending behaviours to positive youth development.

COY 2019

Held on 9 Sep 2019, with the theme “Moving Upstream – Early Prevention of Youth Offending”, the symposium aimed to raise awareness of youth offending trends and long-term school absenteeism, as well as facilitate discussion on upstream prevention strategies.
