Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong launched the Forward Singapore exercise in June 2022 to review and refresh our social compact, and chart a roadmap for the next decade and beyond. The exercise was organised along six pillars - Empower, Equip, Care, Build, Steward, Unite.

Find out more about Forward Singapore here.

MSF conducted ~24 engagements and reached many Singaporeans from all walks of life, as part of the Care pillar. Held between October 2022 and August 2023, MSF’s Care pillar engagements focused on discussions and ideas for these policy areas:

Through the exercise, many key stakeholder groups from:

  • Social service agencies (SSAs)
  • Corporates and social enterprises

  • Students from Post-Secondary Education Institutions (PSEI)
  • Academia
  • General public

participated, where they brought up ideas, suggestions and aspirations to do their part to journey with those in need, and build a stronger, and more inclusive society.

What's next?

As the exercise concludes in October 2023 with the Forward Singapore report, which articulates our collective vision for Singapore and offer recommendations on ways we can all play our part – we don’t want the conversation to stop here.
