Office of the Commissioner for the Maintenance of Parents

To file a claim, the applicant must complete the online Claim Form. It will take about 20 minutes to complete the form with the required supporting documents.

Application for a New Maintenance Order

To apply to the Tribunal for a new maintenance order, the Applicant or Person applying on behalf of the Applicant must complete the relevant Form(s) and submit them by email to the Secretary to the Tribunal at MSF_TMP@msf.gov.sg:

  1. Application for Maintenance
  2. Statement of Applicant
  3. Statement of Person applying on behalf of Applicant
  4. Supplementary Info on Respondent(s)
  5. Letter of Authorisation

Application for the Variation or Rescission of a Maintenance Order

To apply to the Tribunal for the variation or rescission of an existing maintenance order, the Applicant, Person applying on behalf of the Applicant, Respondent or Respondent’s legal personal representative, must complete the relevant Form(s) and submit them by email to the Secretary to the Tribunal at MSF_TMP@msf.gov.sg:

  1. Application for variation of maintenance order (Applicant or Person applying on behalf of Applicant)
  2. Variation filed by Applicant or Person applying on behalf of Applicant
  3. Application for variation of maintenance order (Respondent or Legal personal representative)
  4. Variation filed by Respondent

 Important Note: All applications for a new maintenance order to the Tribunal must first undergo conciliation at the Office of the Commissioner for the Maintenance of Parents. All relevant documents must be submitted to proceed with the application. 

Legal Definitions

"Applicant" includes a person applying for maintenance or in whose favour a maintenance order has been made.

"Approved person or Organisation" means a person or an organisation in whose care the elderly Applicant resides, and has been approved by the Minister in writing to apply for maintenance on behalf of the elderly.

"Commissioner" means the Commissioner for the Maintenance of Parents and includes a Deputy Commissioner and an Assistant Commissioner for the Maintenance of Parents.

"Respondent" includes a person against whom a maintenance application or order has been made.
