Regulatory Requirements Under the SRHA
Licensable Social Residential Homes (SRHs) must have corresponding licences to operate, and must comply with all the requirements in the Act, Subsidiary Legislation, and Code of Practice. Unauthorised operation of a licensable SRH is an offence and may result in criminal penalties under the SRHA.
Social Residential Homes
Social Residential Homes (SRHs) provide residential accommodation to vulnerable persons requiring care and/or social intervention. You will require a valid SRHA licence if you operate a licensable SRH.
Licensable SRHs are defined under the First Schedule to the Act, and includes (but is not limited to) the following residential homes overseen by MSF:
1. Children's Homes
2. Children Disability Homes
3. Sheltered Homes
4. Welfare Homes
5. Adult Disability Homes
6. Adult Disability Hostels
